LCCC announces staff appointments

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) has appointed Dr. Thomas Leamer as Vice President for Academic Services and Student Development and Mr. Anwar Karim as Interim Chief Information Officer.

Dr. Leamer earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Wisconsin State University at Platteville and his Doctor of Education degree from the Pennsylvania State University. Previously, he served as President of Delaware Valley College for ten years, retiring in 2007. Prior to that, he served in a number of positions at the State University of New York at Morrisville including Executive Vice President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and as Acting President. At the State University of New York at Alfred, he served as the Dean of the School of Agricultural Technologies and was a faculty member with the rank of Professor. Dr. Leamer and his wife Susan reside in Jim Thorpe. Karim earned his

B.B.A. in Mathematics at Southern Arkansas University, his

M.B.A. from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and his M.S. in Information Systems from De Paul University. He has experience in both higher education and business. Karim served as the Director of IT Services at North Carolina A&T State University. At Robert Morris University he was an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and also served as Director of Networks & Computing. Other positions held at Robert Morris University include Associate Academic Dean and Instructor/Systems Administrator. Karim's corporate experience includes working at Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. as Manager of IT Infrastructure Capacity Management Programs, Manager of IT Sourcing Program, Manager of Web & Application Engineering Services, and Architect of Business Intelligence & Knowledge Management.
