Slatington Memorial services scheduled

Slatington's American Legion Post 16 will hold its Memorial Day Services May 30 and 31. The services will be held at various outlying cemeteries, leaving the Post Home at 8 a.m. each day. Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Sons of American Legion and Legion Riders are invited to attend.

Sunday morning's services will visit: Williamstown Cemetery at 8:10, Jacksonville Cemetery at 8:40, New Tripoli U. C. C Cemetery at 9:15, Heidelberg U. C. C Cemetery at 9:45, Neff's Lutheran Cemetery at 10:15, 7th St. Catholic Church at 10:45, Fairview Cemetery at 11:00, Friedens Cemetery at 11:15 and the Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 11:45. The tour will then return to the Post Home for dinner.Monday morning's services will visit: Slatington's Washintgon St. Catholic Cemetery at 8:05, Slatedale Cemetery at 8:30 and the Trout Creek-New Covered Bridge in Slatington at 8:50. The tour will end back at the Post Home for the organization of the Memorial Day Parade in Slatington.The Legion's 90th consecutive Memorial Day Parade and Services will be held May 31 at 10 a.m., proceeding to the Union Cemetery in Slatington at 10:30. LTC Dwight Sweezy, U. S. Army Retired will be the event's main speaker. In case of inclement weather, the Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 509 Main Street, Slatington at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend.Please direct all questions to Mark W.
