On Wednesday, May 19, the fourth grade students in Lehighton Area School District will participate in the 3rd annual district-wide spelling bee.
The event will take place in the Lehighton Area Middle School Auditorium at 9:15 am.
Five students will be representing each of the four elementary buildings including Shull-David, Mahoning, East Penn, and Franklin.
These students will spell words from the reading curriculum as well as vocabulary found within science, social studies, and math. The last student spelling words correctly will be awarded the honor of spelling bee champion.
The events leading up to this event included classroom spelling bees and individual school spelling bees.
The following is list of students and the school they are representing:
Franklin Elementary -Justin Ahner, Caine Carpenter, Patrick Lawler, Brenna Drazek, and Breanna Hoffner.
East Penn - Lindsey Bowman, Matthew Dawson, Lauren Serbel, Jenna Berry, and Haley Barlosky.
Mahoning Elementary - Piper Dematte, Dalton Berger, Caleb Pauker, Julia Frey, and Kara Weikel.
Shull-David - Emily Haberman, Kayla Stubits, Dane Frantz, Matthew Petit-Clair, and Nathan Petit-Clair.
