A dog walk is planned for 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, May 18, at the newly acquired land from Forestry, near Locust Lake State Park.
Hikers will explore the newly acquired land. The hike is four miles and moderate in difficulty. The pine stands and brush are perfect habitats for birds and other wildlife.
The participants will hike to the top of the mountain for some great views. They will first meet at the Locust Lake State Park visitor parking lot before the contact station.
Participants should bring a dog for a relaxing hike in the woods. All pets must be leashed and get along with people and other pets.
Registration is required by calling Robin at (570) 467-2506 at www.dcnr.state.pa.us under Locust Lake State Park calendar of events.
