The teams of the Relay for Life of Tamaqua and surrounding communities held their "Bank Night" recently with a meeting at the Jim Thorpe National Bank on Broadway in Jim Thorpe. Bank Night is the opportunity for teams to hand in the funds that they have raised so far up to this point for the American Cancer Society. With $4,000 turned in this night, the ultimate goal of the teams is to eventually raise $91,000 and they are currently up to $21,000 with this deposit. Looking quite anxious to lock the funds away in the bank's vault are Relay Chair Eric Lech and co-Chair Diane O'Donnell. This year's Relay for Life will be held at the Hometown Farmers' Market from 2 pm on June 25th until 2 pm on the 26th.
