Calling all Carbon County seniors who would like to practice for the upcoming 2010 Senior Games.

Victor Pituch, one of the organizers of the games, announced that there will be open practice sessions taking place for participants on Friday, April 9, 16, 23, and 30, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Lehighton Recreational Center, Eighth and Iron streets.

The games, which are slated to take place May 4 to May 13, include basketball, pool, darts, ping pong, shuffle board, bean bag toss, horseshoes, swimming, miniature golf, softball throw, one-mile walk, dancing, bingo, and more.

Sign-ups for the Carbon County Senior Games will also be held in the month of April.

Any Carbon County resident age 60 and older is eligible to participate and can register at the senior centers in Lehighton, Jim Thorpe/Penn Kidder, Panther Valley, Weatherly and Palmerton.
