A Monroe County driver attempted to flee police but then crashed his vehicle and is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

State police at Fern Ridge said Donald R. Bryant II, 35, of Effort, was fleeing police on SR115 northbound about 9:13 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, on when he attempted to make a left turn onto Russell Court (TR845), and lost control of his 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 and struck the guide rail on the north side with the passenger side front.

Bryant was not injured but found to be under the influence and is facing a DUI charge, troopers said.
