The Western Pocono Lions Club's first American Red Cross Blood Drive was a wonderful success in the eyes of officers and members. The club had 48 productive units, thus allowing the Red Cross to help 144 patients in need of lifesaving blood products, according to Jacqueline Dercole, Account Manager, Donor Resource Development, American Red Cross, Northeastern Blood Services Region, in Ashley. Among the donors were several club members and such individuals as shown here with Michael Miller, nurse technician. They are, from left, Christine Diabo, Effort, and Jennifer Leiner, Saylorsburg, both previous blood donors. The overall effort netted five more units above the goal the Red Cross expected, according to Western Pocono Lions CLub club president Helen Koshensky, who generated this club service project.
