Dear Editor:
Didn't you swear an oath to uphold the Constitution for the people, by the people? Last I checked it did NOT read for the corporations by the corporations.
I think you know the only way to save this economy is to open Medicare for all, charge the necessary premiums, which will be or less of what people are paying now, and allow people who can afford more to buy private insurance on top of that.
Free business of the burden of having to carry health insurance and they might just stop moving away. Please do what you know is right in your heart, and vote for the people, and not for the insurance companies. Vote to open medicare for all.
Thank you,
Barry Williams

Good response Dan. Too many people have become addicted to the welfare teat and always seek to blame someone else for their own deficiencies. This mindset is nurtured by the Progressives in the Democrat Party. They must always have an enemy to vilify, today it is the insurance companies, tomorrow it will be someone else. If they do not have an available enemy, they will create one - with the help of a compliant news media. Notice, they NEVER discuss or debate issues or offer soultions that do not grow government, increase taxes and take away more of your freedoms. Read a little history and you will see that the so called Progressives are actually the former Communist Party of the USA. CPUSA went underground when they realized the Democrat Party was more acceptable to the public than they were and the Democrats were pursuing the same agenda
So Mr. Rock,,
Please tell us about Progressives and Communism. Start with Hegel, then Marx an Engels and the Communist Manifesto. Tell us about the practices and beliefs of Teddy Rooseveldt, Woodrow Wilson and FDR. Tell us about the Communist Party of the USA, both as a stand alone political party and then their acquiesence to the Democrat Party. Tell us about labor unions and their ties to communist docrtine. Tell us about Barack Obama, his
mentors, his beliefs and associates as spelled out in his books. Hillary Clinton describes herself as "an early 20th century progressive." Go back to that period and tell us where their philosophy and beliefs came from. Tell us about this: The Communist Takeover Of America - 45 Declared Goals,Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record—Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963. From these 45 goals come the agenda of George Soros and Barack Obama. Perhaps you can tell us about them too.
That should give you a few things to ponder while I polish my tin foil hat!
I think your tinfoil hat is on a little too tight.
Everything you say about Democrats is also true of Republicans, just a different enemy and a different compliant media.
It's also alarmingly clear you don't understand the meaning of progressive or communism.
Mr. Williams, you want a bigger government? Businesses are not hiring because they don't know how far the government will penetrate their businesses. Health care is not a right. And you will not find health care in the Constitution.
Politicians have been able to make people believe that only the government can make you feel better. Welfare keeps people dependent on the government. People think they are making a living on welfare.
Do you realize the federal government is the largest health care provider already? Are you ready to have them tell you that many of the procedures your doctor tells you to have to get better are DENIED by the government health care plan? Medicade and Medicare and VA plans already deny these claims "IN ORDER TO CONTROLS EXPENSES!"
If the government would allow open health care plans across state lines, would limit tort and the legal lawsuit lottery by making false claims pay the defendants, and reduce the costs to bring new promising drugs and treatments to market, you would have a better, more open health care that would do exactly what you are looking for; more access to health care, lower premiums from competition, and probably health care programs that influence more preventive care than reactive care and treatment.
People, you can have better health care from practicing more preventive health care like exercising. Try to stretch if you don't exercise now. Try to walk a block and add a block every month or week. Get more oxygen, the food source to blood by cutting out or cutting down smoking. Eat better foods without the government making you.
Mr. Williams, are you aware of what Nancy Pelosi let out of the bag this week? She said it is more about dieting, not being a diabetic. She knows that the government health care plan will control; what you eat, when, and how much, and you won't have a chance to change your diet. Is this the government health care you want?
The government bill is not about a better health care system. It is about having a structure in place to put more control on the free people so that they are servants to the radical 'new government' that they intend to drop on us. They want the structure more than the actual plan benefits for you and me. So it is not health care but government control of your life.
Thanks for your letter.
Dan from PA
Everything you fear would happen with government run healthcare, with regards to claim denial, already happens with private, for profit healthcare.
In states that have enacted tort reform, insurance prices have NOT dropped, so you can stop suggesting that as any sort of useful solution.
You can't argue with the fact that in countries with single payer healthcare, residents get better coverage and spend less money.
Love to see the study you are reading.
I would bet it does not exist, just as all those countries where you get better healthcare for less.
