Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, will hold an Open House/Information Night on Monday, March 15, from 6-8 p.m. in the school, 123 E. Water St.

This is an opportunity for parents to learn more about a school that features a small-class, family-oriented atmosphere in a Christian environment. Ideas on various ways to make tuition affordable to families will be shared.

OLOA is a pre-kindergarten-eighth grade program accredited by the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary Schools. Families of all faiths are welcome to join the OLOA family.

The school features a full-day kindergarten class and has a uniform dress code. Other opportunities offered at the school are daily prayer, weekly school masses and sacrament preparation, as well as a computer lab, internet access, distance learning and networking.

School activities include yearbook, Math Counts, Peer Tutoring, Race for Education, Students of the Month, newspaper, Peer Helpers, choir, lectoring and a Christmas program.

Students who attend OLOA are eligible to participate in CYO activities that include bowling, spelling bee, academic bowl, declamation, girls' and boys' basketball, arts and crafts, girls' volleyball, track and field and religion awards.

The school has an active Home and School Association that assists the administration and faculty with special programs throughout the school year. Volunteer committees, financial aid, tuition management and fundraising opportunities are also a part of the school year.

The school's curriculum is set in accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Office of Catholic Education of the Diocese of Allentown and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Admission requirements are that a child must be five years of age by Oct. 15 to attend kindergarten, or six years of age by the same date for first grade. Immunization records are required, as are baptismal certificates (if Catholic/Christian) and custody papers for separated parents.
