Kindergarten registration in the Jim Thorpe Area School District for the 2010-2011 school year will be held in March for the L.B. Morris and Penn Kidder buildings. The district offers a full day kindergarten experience for its students.

Registration for L.B. Morris will be held Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16. Registration for the Penn Kidder Campus will be held Tuesday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 24. Children must be 5 by Sept. 1, 2010 to be eligible for kindergarten registration. Parents should call the appropriate school office as registration is by appointment only. A parent or the legal guardian of the child must attend registration. Registration paperwork will not be accepted by other family members.At that time the following documents must be presented:* Original birth certificate indicating the child was born on or before Sept. 1, 2005.* Minimum of two documents that prove residence in the Jim Thorpe School District (tax receipt, lease, utility bill, or PA Driver's License). The documents must indicate a physical address of the home.* Immunization records.* If applicable, bring along a copy of any custody agreements for the school to have on file.Parents are asked not to bring their child to this registration.Kindergarten readiness testing will take place in June. Parents will be asked to sign up for a testing day and time at registration. A special Kindergarten Orientation Day is planned for August when the students will meet their teachers and tour their school.Any questions regarding Kindergarten registration should be directed to the L.B.
