First Steps, a support group for mothers, will have its monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 7, at the Primitive Methodist Church, 55 Hunter St., Tamaqua. The meeting will be held in the church social room from 6-8 p.m.
Participants will share a hot meal and a presentation of Anita Renfroe's "Two Thumbs Up."
The sessions are free and open to the public. Child care for all ages will be provided free of charge. New members and volunteers are welcome.

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens group met last week with 73 members in attendance. One new member, Vern Balliet, and one guest, Arlene Whah, were welcomed. The meeting included a light luncheon.
President Jean Machamer conducted the business session.
Eleanor Roberts offered the invocation, entitled "I Believe." Secretary Eleanor Schmerfeld provided her weekly report and Vice President Doris Brobst added Shirley Mooney to the sick list. Thirteen members attended Senior Day at Knoebel's Grove.
The next meeting will be held July 1, at 1 p.m., at the Tamaqua Community Center, located to the rear of Boyer's Food Mart.
Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.
SS. Peter and Paul
First Friday will be observed this week in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Confessions will be heard at 7:30 a.m. Friday, followed by Mass and devotions at 8 a.m. Communion calls will be begin at 9 a.m., with the exception of parishioners in Coaldale and Hometown. Communion calls to those areas will be made on Thursday, July 1.
Fatima Saturday will also be celebrated this week. Confessions will be heard at 7:30 a.m., followed by a recitation of the Rosary and devotions prior to the 8 a.m. Mass.
Rosary Sunday will be celebrated on July 4. Members of the parish Holy Rosary Society will attend the 8 a.m. Mass and receive Holy Communion as a group. A recitation of the Rosary will be held prior to the Mass.
