Alzheimer's walk

The Second Annual Alzheimer's Family Fun Festival and Memory Walk is being planned for Oct. 9 at Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Carbon County. As part of this year's festivities, a Wall of Memories pictorial display will feature photos of local people suffering with Alzheimer's disease.

To have a loved one included in the display, mail photos to 38 Chestnut Hill, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. At this time, there are no provisions to have photos returned, so pease don't send your original photos. For more information on the event, contact Kathy Ruff at (570) 645-3059.

Alzheimer's was the seventh leading cause of death in 2006, and the fifth leading cause of death in people ages 65 and older.
