Weatherly Area High School, which held its graduation ceremony on Friday, honored high-achieving students:

The "Top 10" students are Christina Janine Graham; Amanda Susan Migneco; Jenette Marie Stadnik; Nicole Elizabeth Caccese; Erin Elizabeth Margaret Sarosky; Melanie Louise Clabia; Saranda Rose Snyder; Cecilia Marie Maleski; Sally Mae Reigle; Nicole Emma Calia and Shane Patrick Moran.

Shane P. Moran was also awarded the Good Citizenship award (the Valley Forge Chapter of the National Society). Presented by Thomas McLaughlin, the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal to a student who has been approved by the faculty as being most deserving of the honor, based on the qualities of dependability, cooperation, leadership, patriotism, and personality. He was also honored as Outstanding Senior Boy (Weatherly Rotary Club); won the McCall Memorial Foundation Scholarship (McCall Foundation); the Wayne and Jayne Hittinger Scholarship (Wayne and Jayne Hittinger); the Edith P. Troutman Memorial award (Carolyn and Al Maury) and the Theresa Hinkle Memorial award (Hinkle family) and the WAHSAA Distinguished Finalist Scholarship (WAHSAA).

Erica Koloski was honored for her role in the 2009 FBLA State Leadership Workshop. She was also a senior correspondent to the Hazleton Standard Speaker.

Daniel Healy was also a senior correspondent to the newspaper. He was honored with the Rev. Bryon Stauffer and Family Memorial award (Stauffer family) and a Carbon County Bar Association scholarship (Carbon County Bar Association).

Amanda Migneco was honored as the Outstanding Senior from the White Haven area. She was presented by Linda Toft with a $25 check from the White Haven Senior Citizens. She was also honored as Outstanding Band Member (WAHSAA); the Salutatorian's Award (SGA); and a Carbon County Bar Association scholarship (Carbon County Bar Association).

Mitchell Sharpe was presented with the Stephen Papincak Memorial award (Alicia Papincak). The award is a $175 check from the Papincak family which is given to a senior who will further his or her education at technical school.

Jenette Stadnik was awarded the Loretta and Harry Allison Memorial Scholarship. Presented by Robert Allison and Dr. N. Lee Koloski, the scholarship is a $1,000 check from the Allison family given through the WAHSAA to the senior who will further his or her education in a technical school and entering a technical field. She also won the Spanish award (Weatherly Rotary Club) and the Salutatorian's award (SGA).

Melanie Louise Clabia won the Schuylkill County Interscholastic Athletic Association award (Schuylkill County League); the Laura Leininger Echrote Award (Earl William Knepper) and the WAHSAA Scholarship Award (WAHSAA) and the C. Myron Sorrels Memorial Band Award (Weatherly Band Parents).

Nathan David Pfeiffer won the Schuylkill County Interscholastic Athletic Association award (Schuylkill County League); the Paul Ratajczak Memorial Award (Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sipler and David Ratajczak) and the Frank L. Romano Memorial Award (the Louis Romano, Sr. family); Outstanding Health and Physical Education (WAHSAA);Congressman Paul Kanjorski Scholarship (Kanjorski Foundation).

Amber Marie Hoffman won the WAHSAA Distinguished Finalist Scholarship (WAHSAA) and the E. Sue Weston Memorial Award (Weston family); Evelyn H. Kelshaw Memorial Music Award (Evelyn H. Kelshaw family).

Nicole Emma Calia won the WAHSAA Distinguished Finalist Scholarship (WAHSAA); Weatherly Rotary Club Scholarship.

Christina Janine Graham won the WAHSAA Distinguished Finalist Scholarship (WAHSAA) the Fine Arts Award in Memory of C. Myron Sorrels (Heydt family); the Richard "Toro" Knepper Scholarship (Citizens' Fire Co); Mr. William Hart, Sr. Memorial Mathematics Award (William Hart, Sr. family); the Excellence in Science Award (Weatherly Casting and Machine Company); German Award (Weatherly Rotary Club); Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Kelshaw Memorial Award (Mr. and Mrs. Charles Palermo).

Sally Mae Reigle won the Brian VanHorn Memorial Scholarship (parents of Brian VanHorn); Outstanding Computer Student (Weatherly Rotary Club).

Adam George Nyer won the the John and Lucille Mengle Memorial Award (Carolyn and Al Maury).

Giovanna Marie Petrone won the Shayla Bird Memorial Award (Shayla Bird families).

Erin Elizabeth Margaret Sarosky won the Sandy Palermo Memorial Scholarship (Palermo family); Outstanding Family and Consumer Science Student (WAHSAA)

Ashley Nicole Miller won the Sandy Palermo Memorial Scholarship (Palermo family); the Mary Price Stewart Memorial Scholarship Award (Warren Steward family);the Warren C. Steward Memorial Scholarship Award (Warren Steward family).

Kayla Marie Furmanchin won the Earl and Roseanne Slusser Education Foundation in memory of Sandra Palermo (Earl and Rosanne Slusser) and the C. Myron Sorrels Memorial Band Award (Weatherly Band Parents) and the Ian Hinkle Memorial Award (Hinkle family); Outstanding Health and Physical Education (WAHSAA);Future Teacher Award (WEA Association).

Keith John Barna won the Anthony Antinozzi Memorial Boy's Athletic Scholarship Award (Wrecker Booster Club); Outstanding Technology Education (WAHSAA); Ronald C. Kelshaw Memorial Award (Mr. and Mrs. Charles Palermo).

Leah Evelynna Parsons won the Outstanding Achievement in Art (WAHSAA).

Jacob Leonard Lazar won the Outstanding CCTI Senior (Weatherly Rotary Club).
