Several candidates seek board seat

A handful of candidates have applied to fill a vacant seat on the Lower Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors.

Five individuals applied for the vacancy as of Monday, according to secretary Christine Wentz. But, Wentz declined to name them at the request of the supervisors.The board figures to appoint a new supervisor when it meets at 7 p.m. tonight. A vacancy has existed on the board since last month, when supervisors accepted the resignation of Supervisor Glen Hahn.Hahn, who had served as a supervisor for over 10 years, had been absent from recent board meetings.Contacted at that time, Hahn, declined to comment as to why he chose to resign.Also at that time, Hahn resigned from the township's recreation committee.
