A woman bicyclist from Kingston was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when struck by a car along SR443 in West Penn Township. The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. as the female along with a male companion were riding their bikes south on Clearview Crossing Road and attempted to cross 443. The male made it safely to the other side but the female was struck by a car being operated westbound by a female operator from Hazleton. The victim was thrown to the ground. She was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics and transported to an area hospital. Township police officer Jason Lorah is investigating the incident. The road was closed for an hour.
