A Schuylkill County couple was arrested yesterday after police executed felony arrest warrants on them in their home and found drug paraphernalia used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Cass-Foster Township police, along with officers from St. Clair and Schuylkill Haven and members of the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force and county adult probation office entered the home of John and Amanda Gill, at 865 Valley Road, in Heckscherville.

When police entered the home about 9:10 p.m. they found drug paraphernalia used to manufacture meth. Also found in the home were various drugs, guns and money, all of which were seized.

John Gill, 49, had been charged with violations of the controlled substance act in December 2009. At that time Amanda Gill, 48, was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Amanda Gill was arraigned on various drug-related counts before District Judge James Ferrier. She was remanded to the county prison in lieu of $5,000 straight cash bail.

John Gill was arraigned before Ferrier and bail was set at $15,000 unsecured. He was attached to a GPS monitor and admitted to an area hospital as the result of injuries he had received in an all terrain vehicle (ATV) accident prior to the arrest.

Police said additional charges against the couple are pending and against two other suspects that were present in the home at the time of the search.
