95th Military Police Battalion thanks Walnutport VFW 7215

Frank Zelinsky of the 95th Military Police Battalion, who was raised in Palmerton, stopped at R.W. Fritzinger Post 7215 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Walnutport. He is an active duty soldier - Sgt. 1st Class Zelinsky, and will be going to California and then on to Afghanistan shortly. Presently he is based at Fort Carson, Colo.

Zelinsky was working in a rear detachment (Germany) when the VFW started collecting items for packages for the battalion, which was in Iraq. "This unit sent up hundreds of packages. They did an outstanding job," he said. "We really appreciate it more than words can tell."I came to recognize Commander Bruce Jones, the Post and officers with certificates of appreciation."In addition to collecting items from members and the community, there were fundraising activities, said Jones. The packages were sent two years ago."You did real good stuff. My soldiers really appreciate what you did. It made a contribution to morale," said Zelinsky.Jones said the Post is looking for another unit to receive future packages.
