SHCIO to meet

The Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Summit Hill Borough Hall.

Scripture sharing

The weekly scripture sharing session sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m. in the parish rectory.

Bloodmobile planned

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will sponsor a visit of the Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 2-7 p.m. in the church hall.

A goal of 35 pints has been set.

Free concert

The Lehighton Men's Band will perform in concert on Saturday, July 31, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park. Admission for the event is free.

Services sought

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, is seeking the services of individuals to fill various board positions. Openings exist for the parish council and finance committee, Our Lady of the Angels Academy school board and the OLOAA finance committee. The only requirement is a desire to perpetuate the Catholic school. It is not necessary that those serving in the school capacities have a child at OLOAA.

Anyone interested in the positions is asked to contact the Rev. James Burdess, pastor.

Lansford

Meeting canceled

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Lansford Borough Municipal Administration Committee, which was supposed to be held tonight, has been canceled. The committee will meet on Monday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. in the borough office.

Other meetings

Two other committees of the Lansford Borough Council will meet later this week.

The Parks and Recreation Committee will meet on Thursday, July 29, at 6:30 p.m., while the council's Code, Planning and Ordinance Committee will meet at 7:15.

St. John's church

At 7 p.m. each Wednesday St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion.
