5 young adults injured

Five young adults were injured Monday afternoon in a one car crash along Troxell Road in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred about 4 p.m. as a teenage female was operating a Honda north when she apparently failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, crossing into the far left berm. The car crashed through a fence of a farm field, traveling through the field and exiting through another section of the fence. The vehicle came to rest on the lawn of the Troxell family after traveling a distance of 335 feet. The car sustained heavy damage including a section of the windshield being penetrated by a wooden fence post. All five teenagers were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Township police stated speed was a factor in the crash and charges will be filed against the juvenile driver. Responding was the Mahoning Valley Fire Company and numerous medical units.
