The 2010 Phillies Homerun Derby was recently held at Baer Memorial Park in Lehighton.

The event, sponsored by the Lehighton Borough, attracted boys and girls from Lehighton and surrounding areas.

The derby opened with the singing of the National Anthem by Lehighton's Riley Durishin.

Awards were presented in six different age groups with the top three winners advancing to the regional finals in Walnutport.

Ages 7-8

1. Brayden Knoblauch (Tamaqua) 30 points, 2. Nathan Rosahoc (Jim Thorpe) 22 points, 3. Zachary Hunsicker (Lehighton) 21 points.

Ages 9-10

1. Zachary Crum (Lehighton) 34 points, 2. Brent Beck (Effort) 19 points, 3. Nicholas Rosahoc (Jim Thorpe) 5 points.

Ages 11-12

1. KJ Snerr (Jim Thorpe) 36 points, 2. Kole Rodrigues (Palmerton) 26 points, 3. Wyatt Clements (Lehighton) 20 points.

GIRLS

Ages 7-8

1. Emma Ligori (Lehighton) 6 points (3 points in tiebreaker), 2. Sophia Salerno (Lehighton) 6 points (2 points in tiebreaker).

Ages 9-10

1. Miranda Chinchar (Tamaqua) 27 points.

Ages 11-12

1. Hannah Binyon (Lehighton) 25 points, 2. Shelby Snyder (Lehighton) 20 points, 3. Nicole Salerno (Lehighton) 18 points.
