An electrical lineman was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when coming in contact with a high power transmission line. The incident occurred at a work site just south of SR209 on Penn Forest Road in Towmensing Township. The worker is believed to be employed by the Asplundh Corporation, a sub-contractor of PPL Electric. The victim was reported to be severely burned and unconscious at the scene. He was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then flown via PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. State police at Lehighton closed the road as the victim was treated and the medical transport helicopter departed the scene.
