One Day Camp
As their senior project, classmates, Wes Hurley, Sean Leslie, Terry Moll and Steven Hayes will be conducting a one day mini football camp at the high school on Thursday, July 29. The cost is $5 per child and all proceeds will be given to Carbon County Special Olympics. The program is open to children from kindergarten to eighth grade. The Jim Thorpe Ministerium will sponsor a Vacation Bible School from July 12-16, at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. It is for children 2 years of age to those who have completed sixth grade. The theme this year is Bao Bab Blast. The craft committee is in need of pine cones, buttons, egg cartons, discs and empty, clean soda cans. If you have any of these articles you wish to donate, contact Kathy Heller, (570) 325-2282. She is also available for any questions you have about the school. It will begin at 6 p.m.
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Albrightsville will hold its first clothing give away this month. They will be collecting clean or new clothing on the following dates and times at the church; July 11, noon until 4 p.m.; July 12-17, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The give away dates are Wednesday, July 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, July 22, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, July 23, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, July 24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you have any questions call the church office, (570) 722-0964 or Shirley, (570) 325-3523.
There are positions open on the Jim Thorpe Zoning Hearing Board and International Property Maintenance Code Board. Any resident interested should send a letter of intent to the borough office, 101 E. 10th St., by Thursday, July 29. The letters should state which position you wish to apply for.
