A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being involved in a serious crash in Franklin Township Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred along Fairyland Road near the intersection with Overlook Road. The biker was traveling east on Fairyland Road when he lost control, sliding to the left of the roadway. He was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then flown by PennStar helicopter to a Lehigh Valley area hospital where it is reported he is stable but in critical condition. Fairyland Road was closed for over an hour. The Franklin Township Fire company responded and fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Township police report the biker lost control while trying to avoid a groundhog.
