A motorcyclist was seriously injured Thursday evening when involved in a crash along SR443 in Walker Township. The biker was traveling east and reportedly had mechanical problems causing him to lose control, swerve to the right and plummet down an embankment. He was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics then flown by Medevac helicopter to a Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident. The scene is about a half mile west of SR309. West Penn and Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
