The parents of Jennifer M. Markert and James E. Kochie have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of George and Deborah Markert of Slatington.She is a 2004 graduate of Northern Lehigh High School, and is currently employed by the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 as a special education secretary.The prospective bridegroom is the son of James and Marcia Kochie of Walnutport. He is a 2002 graduate of Northern Lehigh High School, and a 2006 graduate of Kutztown University.He is currently enrolled in the master's of special education program at East Stroudsburg University.He is also employed by the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 as a special education teacher.A December 2010 wedding has been planned.
