William and Esther (Seifert) Phelps of Towamensing Township, Lehighton, will soon be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Jan. 31, 1970 in St. Paul's

U.C.C. in Easton, by the Rev. Fred Shafer.Their reception was held at the Twin Lakes Country Club in Allentown.William's parents are the late Mansfield and Anne Phelps of Jetson, Ky.Esther's parents are the late Earl K. and Bessie A. Seifert of Easton.William attended schools in Kentucky. He is retired from Kraft, Inc. in Fogelsville.He was previously a police officer in Morgantown, Ky.Esther is a 1960 graduate of Easton High School.She was previously the owner and operator of the Pozy N' Lace Shoppe in Bethlehem, and the Country Lace Lines Shoppe in Pen Argyl, and also the Phelps Notary Service in Bethlehem.Esther has been a member of the Rice Ebner #588 American Legion Auxiliary in Easton for over 60 years.
