The Leadership & Workforce Development Center at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will offer Building Performance Analyst (BPI) Training and Renovator Lead Safety Training in an exciting new partnership with AFC First Financial Corporation, a leading provider of financing and other services to energy efficiency contractors. An Open House in December launched the partnership's new Green Energy Training Center in Lower Macungie Township.

Two green energy workshops have been designed for contractors, HVAC professionals, plumbing and electrical professionals. The BPI Building Analyst workshop will cover the following:

· Home energy auditing

· Field inspections and building diagnostics that will enhance comfort, health, safety, building durability and energy savings

· Follow-up process required for completion of the retrofit measures

· Written and field testing to become certified for Building Performance Institution certification (BA1)

Contractors who achieve this BPI Certification will also be eligible to participate as a "Certified Contractor" in Pennsylvania's state energy efficiency loan program for consumers, Keystone HELP®, which is administered by AFC First.

BPI Building Analyst Training will be offered Feb. 8 through Feb. 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Green Energy Training Center, 1005 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie.

A one day Renovator Lead Safety Training will provide the certification required by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency in April 2010 for all contractors working on interior or exterior surfaces to perform renovations that might disturb paints containing lead. This workshop will be offered Jan. 6 and again Jan. 7 at the Green Energy Training Center.

Registration is based on a first-come, first-serve basis; seating is limited. Future sessions of these workshops will be posted on LCCC's website at www.lccc.edu and at AFC First's Keystone HELP website www.keystonehelp.com
