State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two assault incidents that occurred in Schuylkill County recently.

Troopers said Clarence W. Donton, 31, of Pottsville, was arrested for simple assault following an incident that occurred on Dec. 27 about 11 p.m. at the home of Jennifer S. Donton, 33, of 26 Village Drive, Pine Grove Township. An arrest warrant was secured for Donton and on Saturday, Jan. 2, he was taken into custody. He was arraigned before District Judge Carol Pankake, of Tremont, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville unable to post bail.Troopers said Matthew Herring, 37, of Pine Grove, was arrested for assaulting Renee Herring, 45, at their residence at 908 Long Run Road, in Wayne Township, Pine Grove, that occurred on Dec. 24 about 6 p.m. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Dec. 25 and he appeared at the office of DJ Pankake on Jan. 2 and was arraigned. He was released on unsecured bail, troopers said.
