NM man arrested

A New Mexico man has been charged with burglary at a Schuylkill County service station.

State police at Frackville said troopers came upon a suspicious vehicle, a sports utility vehicle towing a small trailer, parked at the Gas Way along SR61 in New Castle Township, about 12:06 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 24. An investigation revealed that Jeremiah Shivers, 33, of Prescott, N.M., was using a transfer pump and hose to remove gasoline from one of the 8,000 gallon underground storage tanks located at the scene.Troopers said Shivers pumped the gasoline into multiple 55 gallon drums that were on the back of the trailer.He was taken into custody and arraigned by duty District Judge David A. Plachko, of Port Carbon, on charges of burglary, theft, possession instruments of crime and other offenses. He was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $25,000 straight cash bail imposed by Plachko.
