Monroe drivers facing DUI counts

Two Monroe County drivers are facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) following separate incidents that occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

State police at Lehighton said Walter S. Tomaszewski, of Kunkletown, was stopped about 4:10 p.m. along SR209 at Hideaway Hills Rd., in Polk Townsip, for an expired inspection sticker and for following too closely and intermittent braking. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.About 5:35 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Ruby Court, in Ross Township, to a report of a vehicle off the road. Troopers said the vehicle was found and the driver was identified as Irene Depue, 63, of Long Pond. The vehicle had left the road and struck a mailbox.Depue was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.
