Two Tamaqua men and a Tuscarora man were among 12 who pleaded guilty to criminal charges recently in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller.

Seth Willliam Valentine, 30, of 323 Washington St., Tamaqua, on a charge of theft by deception by failing to obtain auto parts for the vehicle of Caitlyn Nicole Burke, Village Road, West BrunswickTownship, was sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison, pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund and court costs. He was cited by Trooper Todd W. Weaver. On a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana he received 30 days probation to run concurent with the theft charge, pay $50 to the CJEA fund, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. On a charge of disorderly conduct brought by Patrolman Karl Harig, Tamaqua police, he was sentenced to serve one to 23 months and on a charge of driving while his license was suspended to serve 90 days but the sentences run concurrent with the theft charges.

Michael George Machay, 23, of 129 Walnut St., Tuscarora, Schuylkill Township, on a charge of criminal trespass on property of Derek Michael Drum, 26 Catawissa Street, Tuscarora, was sentenced to serve nine to 18 months in the county prison with credit for serving nine days and pay $50 to the CJEA fund. On a charge of theft received a concurrent 12 months probation sentence. Machay was cited by Trooper Brian L. Walker. On a charge of theft of tools from the home of his mother was sentenced to serve one to 12 months in the county prison with the sentence to run concurrent and pay $50 to the CJEA fund. Machay was cited by Trooper Brian L. Walters.

Ricky Charles Nelson, 32, of 103 N. Lehigh St., Tamaqua, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance was given credit for serving 21 days in the county prison and was released on probation for 23 months, pay a fine of $100, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $40 to Tamaqua Police Department. Nelson was cited by Sgt. Richard Weaver.

Michael Anthony Eckert, 18, Minersville, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was given a concurrent 12 months probation sentence. Eckert was cited by Patrolman Richard Clink, Minersville police.

Kimberly Krebs, 42, Schuylkill Haven, on a charge of harassing George Krell, was fined $300 plus cost of prosecution. Krebs was cited by Patrolman Kenneth Jacoby, Schuylkill Haven police.

Brian Keith Rabenold, 35, Ringtown, on a DUI charge was placed on probation six months, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, perform 10 hours community service, complete alcohol highway safe driving school and intensive outpatient counseling and driver's license suspended 12 months. He was cited by Patrolman George Parnell, Mahanoy City police.

Joseph Hudson Seary, 51, Beaver Brook, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve one to five years in the county prison beginning Friday, Feb. 26, at 9:30 a.m., fined $2,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, complete alcohol highway safety school and intensive outpatient counseling and license suspended 12 months. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Seary was cited by Patrolman Alfred Walsh, McAdoo police.

Chris C. Shaffer, 20, Sugarload, on a DUI charge was sentenced last Thursday to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison and when he had completed the minimum sentence to be released on parole, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete alcohol safe driving school and DUI program and his license is supended 12 months. Shaffer was cited by Cpl. Duane Frederick, Rush Township police.

Brian C. Stanton, 41, Schuylkill Haven, on a charge of DUI had his sentence deferred to a later date. He was ordered to appear for sentencing on Tuesday, April 6, and ordered a presentence investigative report prepared by the adult probation department.

Steven M. Wetzel, 36, Mahanoy City, on a charge of DUI was sentenced to serve nine months to five years in the county prison effective Thursday, March 11, at 9 a.m., fined $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete alcohol highway safety school and outpatient substance abuse counseling and his license is suspended 12 months. On a charge of failing to obley an authorized person directing traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Wetzel was cited by Patrolman Raymond Horan, Butler Township police.

Daniel Gordon Whitesell, 32, Schuylkill Haven, on a charge of resisting arrest was placed on probation 12 months and pay $50 to CJEA fund. He was cited by Patrolman Kenneth Jacoby, Schuylkill Haven police.

Natasha Ann Zimmerman, 27, Pine Grove, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 93 days to 23 months in the county prison effective Wednesday, March 24, at 9:30 a.m, fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 to CJEA fund, complete alcohol highway safety school land outpatient substance abuse counseling and license suispended 12 months. She was cited by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police. On a charge of violation of the Public Welfare fund was given a 12 months concurrent probation sentence, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $2,143 to the Department of Public Welfare.

Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
