Tamaqua continuing snow removal work

The Borough of Tamaqua will continue snow removal operations next week. Work will begin at 12:01 a.m. Monday and Tuesday mornings. A second crew will begin working at 12:01 p.m. both days. All vehicles must be removed from the posted streets at least two hours prior to the start of operations.

Streets scheduled to be cleaned early Monday morning include: Hunter, Broad to Orwigsburg; Cedar, Center to Greenwood; Brown, Pitt to Nescopec; Patterson, Broad to Mountain Avenue; Elizabeth, Elm to Willing. In the afternoon, the schedule will include: Elm, Schuylkill Avenue to end; Patterson, Willing to end; Catawissa, Broad to endFor Tuesday, beginning at 12:01 a.m., the following streets will be cleaned: High, Lehigh to Bowe; Lombard, Rowe to West Elm; West Union, Nescopec to Washington; Columbia, Elm to Biddle and East End Avenue to Mountain Avenue. After noon, snow removal will include: Cottage Avenue, SR209 to Tamaqua ABC Hi Rise; Clarke, Elm to Biddle; Federal, East End Avenue to Mountain Avenue; Laurel, East End Avenue to Arlington.Snow removal will then continue as needed. The schedule is subject to change.Any vehicles not removed from the posted streets will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Residents are reminded that one street will be done at a time, but vehicles must be removed from all scheduled streets prior to the 12:01 start times.Additionally, snow removal operations will begin before the sanitation trucks begin their regular schedules. Residents should not place their trash on top of snow banks but should place them on their pavements, out of the way of the plows.
