Ellen Major of Lansford, and Alfonso Best of New York, N.Y., have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Margaret Hudasky and the late George Major.She attended Panther Valley High School and is currently employed by the Advocacy Alliance in Dunmore.The prospective bridegroom is the son of Shirley Best of New York, and the late Alphonso Best.He holds an associate degree in medical technology. He is employed by Hale and Hearty in New York.A wedding is being planned for September of 2010.
