The Tamaqua boys outlasted Lehighton, while the Marian, Palmerton and Northern Lehigh girls also got victories in hoop action on Monday night.

On the wrestling side, Pleasant Valley defeated Lehighton.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Tamaqua

In a high-scoring non-league affair, Tamaqua outlasted Lehighton, 72-70.

Michael Taylor scored 13 of his 22 points in the third quarter and helped the Raiders come back from a six-point halftime deficit. Teammate Anthony Bumbulsky led the team with 23 points, including seven in the third quarter.

Nate Kresge hit all five of his three-pointers in the fourth quarter and almost led his Indians to their first win of the season. JT Keer paced Lehighton with 18. Heath Markley added 14.

Lehighton won the JV game, 37-31.

Marian outscored Weatherly in every quarter and defeated the Wreckers, 53-32.

Jen Linkchorst led the Fillies with a game-high 19 points. Fellow Fillies Angela Bellezza and Corrine Markiewicz added nine and eight points respectively.

Weatherly's Alexa Figas led the Wreckers with 10 points. Melanie Clabia chipped in with nine.

Nine different Blue Mountain players got in the book, as the Lady Blue Eagles topped Panther Valley 49-19.

Ashley Davies led Blue Mountain with 11 points.

The Lady Panthers were paced by Dana McFadden's eight points. McFadden hit a couple of three-pointers to give her 42 for the year which is a Panther Valley girls' basketball single-season record.
