A Carbon County woman was injured in a one vehicle crash in Schuylkill County on Thursday. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 2:58 p.m. in the area of 1100 Valley Road, in Walker Township, about two miles outside Tamaqua. Troopers said Terri McHugh, 23, of Summit Hill, was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the above locaton when, for unknown reasons, it went onto the right shoulder. McHugh attempted to bring the vehicle back onto the road and lost contorl. The Jeep then traveled across both lanes of travel and struck a brick retaining wall. McHugh was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from the New England and South Ward fire companies, Tamaqua Rescue Squad and New Ringgold ambulance.
