The Carbon County Conservation District has announced its annual poster contest, open to any student in Carbon County.
The five grade categories include, K-1; 2-3; 4-6; 7-9; and 10 through 12. This year's poster contest theme is from National Association of Conservation Districts Stewardship Week, "Conservation Habits = Healthy Habits."
The contest offers young people with an opportunity to express their views on natural resource issues through the medium of art. Students' submissions are judged in categories according to creativity, simplicity, clarity of message, and quality in relation to grade level.
Prizes are awarded locally, with the opportunity for the winning posters to advance to the state and national levels. The contest is co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts and the National Association of Conservation Districts.
Deadline for entries is 4 p.m., Thursday, March 11.
