A fire heavily damaged the Nacoma Kennels along Strohl Valley Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, Wednesday afternoon. The blaze was first reported at 1:46 p.m.as a working dwelling fire. Firefighters en route to the scene were seeing heavy smoke from several miles away. When fire companies from Towamensing and Franklin townships, as well as Aquashicola arrived on scene they found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the kennels adjacent to the owner's home. It was reported most if not all the dogs were rescued from the fast moving flames. Due to the remote location, water had to be tanked into the site. No injuries were reported in the incident. The couple that owns the kennels, Gus Cerino and Shauna Andrews, in the past have been charged with running a puppy mill and have been accused of charges of cruelty to animals by neglect. The couple faced a total of 28 animal cruelty charges when they went before District Judge Bruce Appleton of Palmerton. They were previously ordered by Appleton to pay the township $30,192 for illegally running a puppy mill at their property.

There is no illegal puppy mill. The kennel has moved in March 2010 and Mr Cerino no longer lives there.
The horses are not being neglected at all, in fact when they were returned (after being WRONGFULLY TAKEN) they were in worse condition then when they left.
The dogs in the fire were personal pets of the owner, Ms Shauna Andrews. And she alone rescued her animals from the fire, while her neighbors watched and grinned as her property was being burned. (I think arson by the way!!) Her neighbors , if you can call them that, have been trying whatever they can to get her to leave. And one of those neighbors is an elected township official, Mrs Penny Kleintop...and the other is elected township secretary Lora Nothstein. Who all were able to move their cars, which were not in danger, but could not help when hearing the cries for help from Ms Andrews as she was trying to save her animals. So who is the animal lover and the animal neglect-er here?
If the news stations and newspaper would get their stories straight and get the facts right, then the people who know the real truth. Can you imagine living next to people like this every day? Making your life hell? Not wanting to go out of your house cause they are taking pictures of you and your house and your property? Having your animals SHOT and POISONED?? But again the news doesn't print that information, the papers don't run those stories. Maybe they should. Imagine fighting to free your animals from flames and no one helps, everyone just watches!
And lastly, the SPCA was there many times and finds nothing wrong with the condition of the animals. The instance when they were taken, they were taken illegally (which was proven in COURT and the horses were returned!!!) and there was no proper paperwork done, no search warrant or nothing...it was an inside job by the way!
must be delusional, only thing can think of (Crazy)

they where in better shape, yeah , go look at them know, hmmm, wonder if she got that percheron colt gelded yet?
Oh,well what's the difference , horses? Dogs?? anyone can be a breeder.
Faced 28 counts of animal cruelty and over $30,000 worth of fines... yet they still manage to run their illegal puppy mill??? A firefighter could have been killed in those flames and dogs could have been killed. Why is it taking so long for someone to do something???? This is appalling and these people need to be taught a lesson!!! Hey SPCA do SOMETHING already!!!!!
