The Heidelberg Hand Bell Choir recently performed at the First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua. The Heidelberg Choir is a 13-member hand bell choir based out of Slatington. Heidelberg's concert hand bell choir rings six octaves of hand bells as well as five octaves of choir chimes. Over the past 25 years, they have entertained many church and community audiences in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding tri-state area with a varied repertoire of sacred and secular music. The bell choir, under the direction of Jackie Laudenslager, is part of the music program at Heidelberg Union Church in Slatington. During their performance at the First United Methodist Church, they played many arrangements such as "Once in David's Royal City", "Joy to the World" and "What Child is This?" For more information about the choir visit www.uccheidelberg.org/bells. Reverend James Cavallero reads a number holiday jokes to his congregation prior to stating his great appreciation to the Heidelberg Hand Bell Choir for performing at their church.
