Kellie Beth Hegarty and Shane Murphy are wed

Kellie Beth Hegarty, daughter of Marian and Sean Hegarty, Tamaqua, and Shane Murphy, son of Kathleen and Brad Murphy, Tamaqua, exchanged vows on June 12, 2010, at SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Tamaqua.

The Rev. William Linkchorst officiated the double ring ceremony. Susan Baddick was the organist.Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose her sister Kerri Hegarty, Tamaqua, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were her sisters, Carla Najarro and Sherry Bynon, both of Tamaqua. Flower girls were nieces, Alexis Higgins and Corabel Najarro, both of Tamaqua.Brad Daniel Murphy, Tamaqua, the groom's brother, served as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Miller, Ardmore; and Mark Angst, Tamaqua. Ring bearers were nephews Zane Bynon and Maximus Najarro, both of Tamaqua.The couple welcomed family and friends to a reception at the Ramada Inn in Pottsville, followed by a 14-day Contiki tour of Italy.A bridal shower was hosted by the bride's sisters and the couple's parents, and a bachelorette party at Alexandria's Salon and Day Spa was hosted by the maid of honor, bridesmaids, and bride's mother.A deep sea fishing bachelor party was hosted by the groomsmen and bridegroom's father; and a joint party was held by the bridal party at Begonia Creek Winery.The new Mrs. Hegarty-Murphy is a graduate of the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, where she earned a B.S. degree in humanities and science. She will be attending the University of Sciences to complete her doctor of physical therapy degree. She is employed by Access Services.Mr. Murphy is a graduate of Temple University, where he earned a B.A. degree in psychology. He will be attending graduate school at North Central University. He is employed by Access Services.The couple currently resides in Tamaqua.
