Stan and Mary Dakosty of Tamaqua have announced the engagement of their son, Stanley Michael Dakosty Jr. to Jessica Rose Schmitt, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Schmitt of Lebanon, N.Y.

The bride-to-be graduated from Sherburne-Earlville High School, Sherburne N.Y. She also graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in dance and Media & Society and a minor in Arts & Education. She is currently pursuing a master of science degree in teaching in childhood education at SUNY Cortland.The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Jackie Dick of Shenandoah and the late James and Loretta Bonner of Summit Hill. He is a graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, and also graduated from Colgate University in 2005 with a bachelor of arts degree in both history and educational studies. In 2007 he received a master of education degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is currently in his fourth year at Colgate University as an assistant football coach.A July 2011 wedding is planned.
