A Coaldale man was one of 14 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge D. Michael Stine.

Ronald W. Goepfert, 20, of 38 W. Water St., on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault was sentenced to serve 2 1/2 to five years months in a state correctional institution with credit for serving 13 days in the county prison. He also was fined $250 and must pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). Goepfert was cited by Det. George B. Woodward, Walker Township police.

Paul Alvin Daubert, 25, fleeing Schuylkill Haven police, sentenced to serve one to 12 months in the county prison, pay a fine of $250, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of failing to carry car insurance was fined $300 and driving while his operating privileges were suspended fined $200 plus $100 costs. Daubert was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Warren G. Firing.

Michael Berdecia Jr., 23, Gordon, simple assault in barroom brawl in Shenandoah, given credit for having served 259 days in the county prison and was released on probation for 23 months, pay a fine of $100, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of criminal conspiracy has to serve an additional 12 months on probation. Berdecia was cited by Patrolman Robert Senape.

Mark Paul Wilner, 42, of 933 E. Pine St., Mahanoy City, cruelty to animal and two counts of harassment was fined $450 plus costs. He was cited by Mahanoy City Patrolman George Parnell.

Angel Nicole Christ, 20, Port Carbon, delivery of a controlled substance, sentenced to serve three to 23 months in county prison, pay a fine of $250, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to CJEA, and received credit for serving 93 days in prison. Christ also must make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $20 to Minersville police.

Heath Michael Livergood, 20, Frackville, carrying a firearm, serve six to 23 months in county prison with credit for serving 23 days, pay a fine of $250, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of loitering received a sentence of three to 12 months to run concurrent and on a charge of disorderly conduct a 12 months concurrent sentence. Livergood was cited by Trooper Mark Ruscavage.

Steven A. Donton, 28, Pottsville, on charges of arson, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, giving a false identification to police and two counts of simple assault was sentenced to serve a total of 19 to 60 months in a state correctional facility. He was involved with three others in making methamphetamine in an attic in Pine Grove and an explosion occurred creating a fire which damaged seven homes and made 11 people homeless.

On seven arson charges he was ordered to make restitution with the others of $967,520; on two simple assault charges pay a fine of $200. On the false identification charge a fine of $100, on the DUI charge a fine of $1,000.

Robert Levar Johnson, 33, Minersville, delivery of a controlled substance, sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison with credit for 31 days, pay a fine of $100 plus $23.50 costs, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $60 to Minersville Police Drug Task Force. On a charge of recklessly endangering another person by engaging in fighting was given a concurrent seven to 23 months sentence, pay a fine of $250 and $50 to CJEA.

Brandon Kneas, 24, Minersville, theft, given credit for 150 days spent in county prison and released on parole for 23 months, pay a fine of $250, pay $50 to CJEA, and restitution of $50 to Minersville police.

Scott Lee Sargent, 26, Pottsville, burglary of Towne Drug Store, Pottsville, sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution, pay a fine of $300, pay $50 to CJEA, $95 to the drugstore and $600 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He received credit for serving 32 days in the county prison. On a charge of defiant trespass on private property was fined $300.

Jonas H. Santana, 21, Hazleton, criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in McAdoo, sentenced to serve 1 1/2 to three years in a state correctional institution, pay a fine of $250, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $239 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He received credit for serving 232 days in the county prison. Santana was cited by McAdoo Patrolman Robert Minnick.

William L. Spearman, 22, Minersville, terroristic threats, placed on probation 36 months, pay a fine of $250, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $150 to Stephen Whitman, victim of assault in parking lot at Fairlane Village Mall and $1,581.84 to Department of Public Welfare.

Robert Charles Wagner III, 25, Shenandoah, simple assault, given credit for serving 34 days in the county prison and released on probation 18 months, pay a $250 fine, and pay $50 to CJEA. Wagner was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph Krammes.

Steven Anthony Valkosak, 45, Orwigsburg, DUI, sentenced to serve five days to six months with the sentence to run concurrent with a sentence now serving in Centre County Prison, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, and license suspended 12 months. On a charge of failing to carry car insurance was fined $300 and careless driving $25 plus $80 costs. Valkosak was cited by Trooper Michael D. Marinchak when stopped on the Burma Road in Blythe Township.

Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
