Sunday, Dec, 12 is a special day in Zions Lutheran Church's celebration of the Advent season at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The church located at Third and Fell Streets in Weatherly.

Soprano Linda Mirocco has sung as soloist in numerous choral groups throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a soloist with the Lubo Opera Company and recently soloist with the Crescent Choral Society in a performance of Mendelssohn's "Elijah" and the Trinity Choral Society's presentations of "Serenade to Music" by Vaughan Williams, Hayden's "Mass in Time of War" and Schubert's "Mass in G."

Linda is a graduate of the famous Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in education and has director of music in several churches in New Jersey. She has established a music ministry that has been active for over 30 years.

Linda and her husband, Rich, are both currently singing with the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir and Crescent Singers in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Mrs. Mirocco will sing several selections during the service at Zions. Including "Daughter of Zion" from Handel's Messiah, the Advent Hymn "Prepare" and "Psalm 146." She will be joined by the Zions Choir for "King of Glory." John, Simkovich, Zions organist and Choir director will provide the accompaniment.

Linda is a Loss Prevention Associate with PNC Bank.

The Reverend Kurt Garbe, Assistant to the Bishop of the Northeastern PA. Synod. Will be the guest Pastor and lead the congregation in the worship service for the Advent Season.

Zions will also be host church for the Weatherly Area Community Choir's cantata performance on Sunday at 3 p.m.

All are welcome to come and worship at Zions, Sunday school starts at 9:30 and worship at 10:45.
