Lansford Alive! on Friday presented Marco's Pizza, at 10 W. Ridge St. with its Black Diamond Community Improvement Award. Business owners Francesca LoDuca, her daughter-in-law Patricia LoDuca and son Sal LoDuca have invested in the borough through their efforts to transform a drab corner in the business district into a bright, welcoming place. A large parking lot has replaced a deteriorated building at the corner of Ridge and Tunnel streets, and the restaurant, at 10 W. Ridge St., has a new facade and a spacious, inviting interior. Standing, left to right, are: The Rev. John Keiter; Lansford Alive! treasurer Martha Rex, Patricia LoDuca, Sal LoDuca, Francesca LoDuca and Lansford Alive! president Mark Sverchek.
