A Barnesville woman entered a guity plea recently in the Schuylkill Court to possession of a controlled substance and was placed on probation by Judge Jacqueline Russell who also sentenced 13 others who entered guilty pleas.

Stephanie Parliament, 23, of 886 Barnesville Drive, was placed on probation for 23 months, receiving a 12 months sentence on a possession of a controlled substance charge plus 11 months for possession or drug paraphenalia. She also must pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), perform 20 hours of community service, obtain a drug evaluation and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. She was cited by Patrolman Michael Dissinger, Mahanoy City police, in an apartment.

Louis Dominic Damore, 47, of 1970 Chestnut Street, New Ringgold, stop sign viiolation on Green View Road, North Manheim Township, was fined $50 plus $50 costs. A hit-and-run charge was nol prossed.

Randy Guy Williams Jr., 23, of 74 Valley Street, New Philadelphia, involved in accident in Pottsville causing injury, was placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours of community service and make restitution of $1,336.34 to Vincent Mozloom. On a charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs.

Justin Albert Powanda, 19, Schuylkill Haven, driving under the influence (DUI), received credit for serving three days in the county prison and was released on parole for six months, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in alcohol highway safety school, undergo outpatient substance abuse counseling, submit to random drug tests and do 10 hours community service.

Christina Joy Roeder, 21, Pottsville, on three counts of DUI was sentenced to serve eight days to 18 months in the county prison beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 31. She also has to pay fines totaling $2,500, pay $700 to SAE fund, $150 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant fee, perform 60 hours of community service, complete safety school, submit to radom alcohol tests, undergo outpatient substance abuse counciling and driver's license suspended 12 months. On summary charges of careless driving and having an open container of alcohol beverage in her car was fined $50 plus $100 costs.

Amy Lynn Sartori, 24, Shenandoah, possession a controlled substance, 12 months probation, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours community service, undergo drug evaluation and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.

Steven Brzoska, 34, Gordon, possession of a controlled substance, 12 months probation, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50to CJEA, perfrom 20 hours of community service, obtain drug and alcohol evaluation and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.

Kevin Cooney, 25, Shenandoah, DUI, placed in Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 20 hours community service, attend highway safety school and receive outpatient counseling and lose license 12 months.

Mario A. Luna, 27, Pottsville, DUI, placed in IPP for six months, pay fine of $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete safety school and outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service and license suspended three years.

Jeremy Tyler Culbert, 20, Saint Clair, two counts of DUI, serve 33 days to12 months in the county prison, pay fines totaling $1,750, pay $400 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA, $120 to Schuylkilll Medical Center, complete alcohol safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service and license suspended two years. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs.

Kristin Grace Brady, 24, Pottsville, DUI, undergo imprisonment for 90 days to five years and allowed to participate in work release program, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in alcohol safety school and receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service and license suspended 18 months. On a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Brady reports to the prison September 3 at noon to begin his sentence.

Jose Fransico Cabrera Jr., 19, Saint Clair, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief to apartment at 447 E. Market St., Pottsville, was given credit for serving 68 days in prison and released on probation for 23 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA, perform 40 hours community service and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.

John Charles Paletskie Jr., Morea, Mahanoy Township, DUI, sentenced to serve 30 days in county prison beginning at 10 a.m. on Oct. 1, and then serve four years and 11 months under various probation rules in the IPP, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 20 hours community service, complete outpatient counseling services and license suspended 18 months. On a charge of failing to drive at a safe speed was fined $25 and $50 costs.

David Norman Murphy, 46, Shenandoah, harassing Michael Benjamin, Shenandoah, by telephone, fined $50 and costs.

Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
