The long-awaited county-wide 9-1-1- system went on line this morning at 10 o'clock a the Carbon County Communications Center in Jim Thorpe, where Bell Telephone began accepting the emergency calls. William Moser, the county's 9-1-1 coordinator, said the new system will have numerous benefits for dispatchers. Among them is they'll be able to identify the number and location from where the call is being made for about 95 percent of the county.
