Prison board holds meeting over charges against employee

A special meeting of the Schuylkill County Prison Board was held recently.

The meeting was called by President Judge Willliam E. Baldwin, who is chairman of the board, to prepare charges against a prison employee. The matter was first discussed at an executive session of the board.The board voted to retain Attorney Tim Pellish to act as the hearing officer in the event the employee wishes to contest the charges and to conduct a hearing and report back to the prison board with his recommendation.On motion of County Commissioner Mantura Gallagher the board voted to retain Pellish as hearing officer in event charges are contested. The charges to be brought were not discussed at the public meeting. The employee was suspended with pay pending disposition of the charges.
