Slatington Crime Watch
The next meeting of the Slatington Crime Watch will be Thursday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. in the borough hall board room.
New this year will be a community picnic, open to everyone in the area, on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Victory Park Pavilion, rain or shine. There will be free ice pops, lots of games, and more for the kids, and is fun for all ages.
The third annual community yard sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All borough residents are welcome to participate. Residents may have a yard sale at their home, or if they do not have a yard, they may have a space at the Rails to Trails lot across from Sal's on Main Street. The permit fee will be waived by the borough for those who preregister by sending their name, address, phone number and indicate home or lot by Sept. 15. Reminder, this is only for Saturday. Those who choose to have a yard sale on Friday and/or Sunday, must get a permit from the borough. For more information, e-mail email@example.com.
Volunteers are needed for both the picnic and the yard sale. Those who would like to help should e-mail the Slatington Crime Watch at the aforementioned address.
