Northern Lehigh School District has returned to form in the classroom.

Karen Nicholas, assistant to the superintendent, informed the school board on Monday that the district has met Adequate Yearly Progress in each of its four buildings.

"I'm very, very pleased," Nicholas said. "It just goes to show what we can do when we work as a team."

Nicholas said she planned to have a more in-depth report on the district's overall performance at next month's board meeting.

"Kudos to our teachers and students; they worked very, very hard," she said. "They should receive a lot of applause, and we're very proud of them."

Last year, the middle school and high school failed to meet AYP, which is a key measure of school performance established by the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
