Middle school student expelled

A Northern Lehigh Middle School student has been expelled for the first semester of this school term.

The school board unanimously agreed on Monday to expel the student, a male, following the Findings of Fact and Conclusion of Law and recommendation of the Hearing Committee earlier in the day.The recommendation is to expel student #1490011, for whom the hearing was conducted, from school attendance for the first semester of the 2010-11 school year, as per the adopted school calendar. However, board President Edward Hartman said the student could have the expulsion cut in half and be permitted to attend school at some point."If the young man does an exceptional job, he could have it reduced," Hartman said.
