Tara Kocher and Daniel Derr exchange vows

Tara Joy Kocher, daughter of Paul and Vicky Kocher of Lehighton, and Daniel John Derr, son of the late Franklin and Deborah Derr, were wed on June 26, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lehighton.

The Rev. Robert VonFrisch and the Rev. Guy Grube officiated at the double ring ceremony. Dwight Weaver was the organist while Brian Hoffner was the vocalist.Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Dawn Mriss, Lehighton, as matron of honor. Stephanie Ahner, Lehighton, was a bridesmaid. Brynn Mriss, the bride's niece, was the flower girl.The bridegroom chose Patrick Mriss, brother-in-law of the bride, to be his best man. Randy Johannsen, Jim Thorpe, was the usher. The ring bearer was Caleb Sommers of Palmerton.The couple welcomed family and friends to a reception at the Franklin Township Fire Company, followed by a honeymoon cruise on the Caribbean Princess.A wedding shower was held at Phifer's Ice Dam, and hosted by the bridal party and family.The new Mrs. Derr is a graduate of Lehighton Area High School. She holds a bachelor of science degree in special/elementary education from Kutztown University, and a master or arts degree in reading education from East Stroudsburg University. She is employed as a special-education teacher at Lehighton Area High School.Mr. Derr is a graduate of Carbon Career & Technical Institute. He is employed by New England Motor Freight.The newlyweds reside in Lehighton.
